FAQ and Policy
We appreciate your support and interest in our dahlias. Below is some info about us and our policies.
Are you a farm?
No, we are HOBBY growers. That means we grow very few plants of many varieties. Often times just a single plant of a variety. Tuber availability will be scant. Some varieties will have as little as a single tuber for sale.
What's your virus policy?
It has been estimated that 85% plus of the dahlias on the market have virus. If you are purchasing from us, you should expect that you will inevitably get virused dahlias, as we do not test our dahlias.
What we DO to help mitigate risk, is sanitize snips between each variety, so as not to pass disease from one plant to the other.
We do cull anything that is plainly suspicious looking, but we do not pull every dahlia with a blemish on a leaf or a slight curl. If that is not to your standard, PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM US.
What's your shipping costs and do you combine shipping?
Shipping costs have gone up, as most of you know. This year we're doing a flat fee of $15 for all orders. I know that's not ideal, but the headache of trying to figure out what all will fit in a small flat rate versus medium flat rate just seems too complicated for our first run at a web store.
You will need to add your preferred shipping date to your cart prior to check out. If you do not pick a shipping window, and do not contact me with 24 hours, I will choose the window that best works for me. This my or may not work for your grow zone or weather forecast and would not be eligible for refunds.
We will combine tuber orders, IF you make sure you put in COMBINE25 in all subsequent orders AND your first order has not yet shipped. You will incur a $2 fee for each subsequent combined order, due to the time and effort it takes to combine orders.
What will my tubers look like?
They will look like odd little potatoes. Sometimes they may have a nick here or there. What we DO guarantee is that they will have an eye and be true to variety, unless noted in the description that a variety has not been verified. In those cases, you're taking on the risk of a possible mislabel upon your purchase.
Will you be selling cuttings?
If we decide to sell and ship cuttings, it will be the cost of the cutting + $22 for UPS 2nd Day Air shipping.
Do you offer refunds?
You must inspect your order within 48 hours of arrival. Your 48 hours will start upon delivery of the USPS box to your address. If we do not hear from you within that time frame, we will assume all is well and you will not be eligible for a refund. No exceptions! If you do have a problem that you identify within the 48 hour time frame, you must email us AND send pictures of your concern. Given our low stock, it is unlikely we will be able to replace your tuber, so in cases of valid issues, you will be refunded the cost of the tuber but will not be refunded the cost of shipping.
There will be no refunds for tubers that rot in your storage. We have no control over what happens to your tuber upon receipt in the weeks/months until you plant.
There will be no refunds for damage caused by USPS. We cannot be held responsible for what they do with the tubers once it is in their possession. I would encourage you to file a claim through USPS for damaged or lost tubers. We will not be assisting you in filing that claim and consider it the purchaser's responsibility to do so.
In the case of storage failure, you will be refunded the cost of the tuber.
Where did you get your photos?
All photos are taken on the property they're grown on, either at mom's or my place. Please do not reproduce or copy these photos for use unless you've requested permission.
Are there limits on tubers?
Yes, some varieties will have limits of 1 to increase the odds that more growers can obtain them. If you choose to not abide by this limit, your entire order will be cancelled. No exceptions.
We reserve the right to refuse service. We will not tolerate harassment, blasting your complaints on social media or otherwise being disrespectful. If you do not feel you can agree to the above or dislike our approach, again, I would encourage you to spend your money elsewhere.
